About This Project

This two-story Johnstown home's roof had reached the end of its life — brittle, cracking shingles, heavy granule loss, and old patchwork that was no longer holding. Over a few summer days we protected the landscaping and walk-out deck, tore the old roof off down to the decking, and rebuilt it from the underlayment up with GAF synthetic underlayment and new architectural shingles, finishing with a thorough quality-control walk.

Scope of Work

  • Full tear-off of the existing shingles down to the roof decking
  • Inspection of the decking with repairs where needed
  • GAF FeltBuster synthetic underlayment across the full roof
  • Ice-and-water shield in the valleys and along the eaves
  • New architectural (dimensional) asphalt shingles
  • New pipe-boot flashing and sealed roof penetrations
  • Landscaping and deck protected throughout, with a full magnetic nail sweep at cleanup

The Result
